Scrubs is Over
I discovered Scrubs my senior year in high school when they did their musical episode in season 6. I immediately fell in love with this charming, quirky show and quickly procured all the other seasons. Now I've seen every single episode because the show is gone, once and for all.
But I won't cry for Scrubs. It was hysterical, gave me many laughs and a deep respect for Zach Braff. They also did everything they could to keep the series going. They persevered through the writer's strike, made the move to ABC, and even completely revamped the series in order to have a season 8 without many of their original stars.
If Scrubs hadn't exhausted all resources to stay alive I'd be a little bitter, like I was when Pushing Daisies was cancelled. The first season of Pushing Daisies was cut off due to the writer's strike, then season 2 was cancelled halfway through. This left no room for closure and a very sad Ashley. They didn't even give it a complete season to truly try it out!
Unfortunately the final resource they tried, this revamped season 9, just wasn't good enough to keep Scrubs alive. The med school scenario just wasn't as funny, Judy Reyes (Carla) left and Zach Braff only stayed on for a couple of episodes. It was a valient effort, but there's only so much time you can drag a show along before it just doesn't work anymore.
So long Scrubs, I'll miss you, but I won't mourn you because you had a long and happy life.
