Overdue updates, New Poll, and 5 things to do in this GORGEOUS weather!

Hello everyone!

Sorry I disappeared (for over a week- yikes!). I was on spring break and got carried away with other activities, then I came back to school and got carried away with homework- yuck! Anyway, things are going well, here's a few quick catch-up items...

The Oscars: I didn't watch it- sorry! I went out to dinner with my family, recorded it, and then just never got around to watching it! I did look up the winners though and was pleasantly surprised. Avatar won for visual effects, as it should have, but didn't snag Best Picture, so everything is right with the world. And Star Trek even won an Oscar for make-up, which made me very happy! Sandra Bullock won Best Female Actress over Meryl Streep, which I was content with. Meryl is phenomenal, but I would have given her the Oscar for Devil Wears Prada, not Julie and Julia. And good for Sandra Bullock for snagging her first Oscar! Which is even more hilarious with her double-razzie win for All About Steve. If you haven't seen her acceptance speech it's hilarious. She basically said they must not have watched the film or misunderstood it for her to win Worst Actress of the year, so she brought them all copies of the movie! Now I just have to see the Blind Side...

Poll Results- Wow. I must not have that many Harry Potter Fans. Only a few people voted. Sirius Black and Harry Potter tied for the win. Not much to say there due to the lack of response. Hopefully the NEW POLL on fast food restaurants will get more interest.

5 Things to do in this Gorgeous Weather: in honor of the first truly beautiful day of spring-like weather

1. Enjoy it- don't sit inside all day if you can help it, it's way too pretty!

2. Read a book- I love laying out in the sunshine with a good book. I find that comical books work better than dense books for this because you don't have to concentrate as much and you can let yourself be distracted by the beauty around you without missing crucial things happening in your book.

3. Listen to music- Last summer my sister and I laid out on the back porch with a boom box and listened to the radio. This is especially fun when you call in for the radio contests :-) It also helps you catch up on the current popular songs if you don't normally listen to the radio much like me.

4. Go for a walk- feel the breeze and enjoy the exercise! This doesn't even have to be in a particularly "nature filled" spot as long as you are in the sunshine it is highly rewarding and therapeutic. You can listen to the sounds around you, daydream, or listen to music while you walk!

5. Take pictures- my best friend and I went to the Natural Bridge over spring break and it was so much fun. The bridge itself is amazing and the scenery is great, but that wasn't my favorite part of the trip. We took a camera and took funny pictures whenever we could think of one, making an already great trip even better! And now we have photos to help us remember the fun time we had!
