Glee, Avatar, Kiera Knightley, and whatever else you want to read!
Hello Cyberspace Friends!
I decided to start this blog to keep myself writing and share my opinions about....anything. I don't claim that any of this is fact, but I'll try to keep it entertaining nonetheless. I'll write at least once a week and will vary topics based on reader suggestions and pop culture.
So what do you want to hear about? I'm totally open to suggestions, so just reply to this post with what you want to hear about and I'll try to oblige. I'm fairly knowledgable about movies and theatre in general, especially musicals, and not so great on current events.
A few pop culture things to get us started...
- Rumor has it Kiera Knightley pulled out of the "My Fair Lady" remake. Personally I couldn't be happier about this. Kiera Knightley is a decent actress, but I'm not sure she (or anyone for that matter) can beat the Audrey Hepburn-Rex Harrison version (unless, of course, you get Julie Andrews to play Eliza, but she's too old for that now).
- Another rumor states that hit tv show "Glee" (a personal favorite of mine) will not evaporate from television until April. Apparently, to tide viewers over in the meantime, they will have a reality-type show where they search for three new cast members. Though viewers do NOT get the final say in who these cast members will be. While I think the opportunity to show the creative process of casting is a fascinating idea, I'm not sure how I feel about this altogether. I feel like "Glee" is too good to have a reality show (a step down in my opinion), though the fact that viewers don't have final say is a good thing. If you look at reality shows like "American Idol" they go quickly downhill and let's face it, none of the idols have reached the stardom of Kelly Clarkson.
- My dad says Avatar was better than Star Trek. I disagree. Maybe this is just because Avatar didn't have Chris Pine, but I also really liked the storyline ofStar Trek better. It seemed much better crafted than the "rescuer" storyline of Avatar. While I liked Avatar and the special effects were amazing and very imaginative, glowing plants didn't really make up for the lack of Star Trek's quippy one-liners.
Question for you: (These will normally be more creative than this, but just to get us started). What do you want to read about?
